I am a mixed media artist, based in the UK.
I create Impressions, Expressions and Abstract paintings, taking my inspiration from life experiences, memories and from feelings of spontaneity in the moment of creating. I also take much inspiration from the beautiful surroundings in Norfolk, where I live. From the exhilarating seascapes, to calm, serene riverbanks, meditational abstracts, and animals in a more illustrative style.
I work mostly in watercolour, inks and acrylics and love to experiment with many different styles and techniques.

My Art and Inspiration
It begins with a thought, a feeling. A change of colour in the sky. An image on a stone or an imaginary landscape on the floor...
I like experimenting with many different styles and colours and use only professional artist quality materials. I sketch and take photographs outdoors, using them or just creating from ideas and thoughts of what I feel.
The visual immediacy of a painting can transport you anywhere and can trigger the mind, body and spirit into a state of well being in experiencing the raw power of nature from the beautiful, calm tranquillity of my flowers to the sublime exhilaration of my seascapes.
In today's climate many of us feel the need to relax, meditate and free ourselves from the hubbub of The Everyday, social media and technology. Many people have found my artworks to be uplifting, meditational and spiritual; a connection with nature in an instant, to help become more in tune with a more natural state of being.

From Art History to Art Studio
My life and passion is creating; as we are created we strive to create.
Originally from London, I moved to Norfolk about twenty five years ago which has been my main source of inspiration.
I have studied and gained a degree in Art History which has enriched my love of art. For me, as well as creating art, it is important to know how art has developed through time and what inspired artists to create. I think that's very significant, the reasons why we do what we do.
