Well hello there and welcome to my art blog. I’m Sue from suemobbsartrealms and this is my very first blog, and is hopefully the first of many. Let me say first off that it is a very daunting process writing this but as I have been told it is very necessary if you are an artist or creative. It’s not enough to just create, you have to put yourself out there especially if you have an online gallery, sell your art online or just want to promote your work.
In my blogs I’ll be writing about art, my art, art in general, events and happenings. Follow me on my art journey, where I am exploring different realms of art (suemobbsartrealms!) Currently, I’m working on creating ‘Nature’s Energies’. Watercolour and acrylic paintings. Impressionistic, expressionistic and abstracts. I’ll be hopefully moving on to exploring ecological and environmental themes, and more figurative work, exploring the human/nature relationship.
I’ve already created some animal spirit/energies; wolf, owls, ravens, crows, hares and insects which will be included in my first solo art exhibition which starts tomorrow!
It has come as no surprise, let me say, as to the amount of work needed to set up an exhibition, even a small one like mine. From getting paintings framed, organising prints, business cards, flyers, posters etc. and promoting locally and on social media. It has been hard work but I have enjoyed it however, the creative side has suffered! I can’t do everything, and as this is new to me, blogging, exhibiting, it has taken time. Lots of time. Hopefully, I will be painting at the exhibition as I will be there from 10

AM to 4 PM. I feel some more ravens calling...
.
So not only is this my first art blog, but I’ll be hosting my very first art exhibition tomorrow (scary stuff!) ‘Nature’s Magic’ Out of the Web and Onto the Walls! I’ll be showcasing a collection of my Nature’s Energy original watercolour and acrylic paintings and limited edition prints, from seascapes, landscapes, spirit animals and flowers.
The exhibition is about getting out there! ‘Out of the Web and Onto the Walls! (and everywhere else!) Don’t get me wrong, social media is a crucial marketing tool in promoting, connecting, and networking, (can’t believe I used that word!) However the utterly best, one hundred percent way to view art, in my opinion, is in ‘the flesh’. I cannot totally describe the connection, but it is a two way artwork/spectator happening! Something connects-spiritually perhaps? Sometimes negatively (not everyone likes everything!), hopefully positively. But it has to cause a reaction. I personally do not think the same thing happens when viewing on a screen.
So, if you’re in the neighbourhood, Come to my Art Exhibition! At Friends Bistro, 55 Deneside Gt Yarmouth, NR30 2HL. 30th Sept-5th Oct, 10AM-4PM daily. Drinks and canapés Friday evening 5PM - 7PM.
I’d love to see you there!
